PDF (Adobe Acrobat) Downloads

To view the newsletter you need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer since they are all PDF files. Click here to download the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader for free.

Recorded Webinar Problems

Recorded webinars are either .wmv video files or .mov video files. As of 9/15/16, all recorded webinars are strictly available as .mov files. 

WMV Files

The .wmv video files are compatible with all versions of Windows Media Player. 

MOV Files

The .mov files are compatible with Windows Media Player 12 (Available as part of Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 only) and QuickTime 7.6 or newer. Microsoft XP or Vista users may have to play the video through QuickTime. Click here for a free QuckTime download. 

Accessing Purchased Streaming Videos

You can access your videos by visiting the following link:
https://www.optionstrategist.com/user

Once logged in, refer to the right-hand side of the site to access your videos. For example, if you purchased the 14 Seminar Home Study Course, click the link that reads 14 Seminar Home Study Course under the My Videos heading and you will be able to access the appropriate streaming video pages.

If you are using a phone or tablet, the My Videos heading will be at the bottom of the page.

You can your Seminar Set downloads logging into the Files section of My Account and clicking on the file names. See Below for a video tutorial of how to access your file downloads:

Each seminar set is delivered as a downloadable ZIP file. After downloading the file to your computer:

  1. locate the file and do one of the following:
      To extract a single file or folder, double-click the compressed folder to open it. Then, drag the file or folder from the compressed folder to a new location.
      To extract the entire contents of the compressed folder, right-click the folder, click Extract All, and then follow the instructions.
  2. Double click the .wmv file (i.e. option-basics.wmv) to play the seminar

USB Set Installation Instructions

PC

Each seminar is included on a USB flash drive. After inserting the USB flash drive into your computer:

- If the auto-run prompt asks "What do you want Windows to do?", click "Play" to play the videos.  You can select the video of your choice from the Windows Media Player Playlist.

- If the auto-run prompt doesn't automatically open:

  • Windows XP - Double Click the "My Computer" icon on your desktop, double click the "MCM_IOW_1" drive, double click the "PC" folder and then double click the .wmv file (i.e. iow1_vol_trading.wmv) to play the seminar.
  • Windows Vista / 7 - Click the Windows "Start" button on the bottom left of your desktop then click "Computer" from the menu.  Double click the "MCM_IOW_1" drive, double click the "PC" folder and then double click the .wmv file (i.e. iow1_vol_trading.wmv) to play the seminar.

MAC

Each seminar is included on a USB flash drive. After inserting the USB flash drive into your computer double click the "MCM_IOW_1" dive on your desktop. Double click the "MAC" folder and double click a .mov file (i.e. iow1_vol_trading.mov) to play the seminar.

CD-ROM Set Codec Error

If the CD-Roms from the 16 CD-ROM Home Study Course are giving you a "codec error" you may need to install the voiceage codec.  Click here to download.  After installing that codec, re-start your computer.  

If the CD-Roms still do not work properly, try installing this codec and then restart your computer.

If you still can't view the CD-Rom sets, contact us.

Software Installation Problems

When installing either The Probability Calculator or Expected Return Calculator you may receive an error that reads "The application has failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found.  Re-installing the application may fix this problem. "  If this is the case you need to download the MSVCR71.DLL file and place it in your system directory.  You can download the MSVVCR71.DLL file by clicking here.  Once downloaded you simply need to copy the msvcr71.dll file into the directory c:\windows\system32 (and c:\windows\SysWOW64 if you have a 64 bit processor) and then it should run correctly.

Software Help Functions not working properly

If the help functions for The Probability Calculator, Expected Return Calculator or Option Evaluation Software is not working properly, you may need to install the following patch:

You will need to re-start your computer after installation for changes to take place.

We highly recommend updating your browser to take full advantage of what this site and others have to offer. As web technology improves, browser software is updated to incorporate new programming features, including frames, JavaScript support, animation and more.
