WEEKLY PUT-CALL CHARTS

More on the
Put-Call Charts:
· tutorial

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Our put-call charts are viewed with software written by McMillan Analysis Corp. The charts can be viewed from DOS or from Windows. Each week, you will be emailed the charts in a zipped file. Merely unzip them into the appropriate directory on your computer and you’ll be ready to view all of the charts each week.  The put-call ratio charts are published VIA EMAIL ONLY. They are sent on Saturdays.

"Congratulations ! You did predict the present crash when you announced that the VIX was too low. Thank you for the information about the Put/Call ratio."
Sylvia Kantor

WHAT'S INCLUDED:

The weekly service includes charts of certain sector indices, futures, and any stock whose average option volume is at least 7500 contracts. In addition, there are at least a dozen charts that depict the broad market sentiment, such as the equity-only put-call ratios. As a result, you receive on the order of 160 put-call charts each week, approximately 65 of which are stocks, 15 are indices, and 20 are futures. In addition, there are WEIGHTED put-call ratio charts on 60 of these.

1. Weighted Put-Call Ratios
Weighted put-call ratios are considered to be more reliable and accurate than "normal" put-call ratios. That’s why we include a substantial number of weighted charts each week..

2. Computer Interpretation of Put-Call Charts
There is a computer interpretation of each chart. That is, the computer is estimating which way the moving average IS trending (or is GOING to trend very soon). An uptrend indicates a sell signal, and a downtrend indicates a buy signal. Do not rely solely on the computer projection. THIS COMPUTER ESTIMATE IS NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR HUMAN INTELLIGENCE.

3. Percentage Ranking
In the list of computer interpretations, there is a percentage number that follows each symbol, and that THE LIST IS SORTED BY THESE PERCENTAGES. These percentages tell you how far up or down the chart the CURRENT (last) reading is. Thus, you can identify more easily those charts that are at extremes.

4. Receive any chart you want!!
We are also providing an additional service: if there is a particular put-call ratio chart that you would like to see, just email us your request, and we will email the chart back to you within 24 hours. There is no extra charge for this service.

VIEWING THE CHARTS:

The software draws two lines on each chart: 1) the put call ratio chart IN YELLOW, and 2) the stock chart in white. Thus, one can easily see if the underlying has performed well in line with put-call ratio buy and sell signals over the past year by looking at the charts in this format. A sample chart of IBM is shown below. Click on the image to see a larger view.
